What Does Anxiety Feel Like...

You’ve had anxiety for so long that you don’t remember what it feels like to not have constant knots in your stomach, feeling constantly on edge (like you might snap at any minute) and endless worry (even worrying about worrying!)

You're on the verge of tears almost all the time and not knowing why, unable to focus through the mental fog.

You feel like everyone is staring at you and judging everything you say.

You basically overthink every little thing over and over, as though your thoughts are on a constant hamster wheel, imagining the worst possible outcome of the current situation.

You have an overwhelming sense of dread and inability to imagine a positive future.

You're always anxious about having more anxiety — which only causes more anxiety.

Symptoms of Anxiety

Anxiety can manifest in a number of ways, can you relate to any of these:

Having trouble sleeping because of too many ruminating thoughts going through your mind or fear about not being able to fall asleep.

You may be feeling perfectly normal and then suddenly experience chest pains, heart palpitations, tingling in your arms and fingertips, dizzinesstunnel vision and difficulty breathing.

Striving to be perfect, all the time! The idea of failing or never being good enough can be a daily internal struggle.

Isolating yourself from friends and family, not wanting to leave your house wondering about when/if the next panic attack will strike.

Going out of your way to avoid specific objects or situations in your daily life due to intense fear.

Avoiding social situations for fear that people are judging you, talking about you, or do not like you.

Core Level Healing Therapy's Approach to Treating Anxiety

Learning how to feel safe within your body will be our first step together. I will give you tools so that you can better understand your nervous system and you will earn how to regulate your nervous system when feeling symptoms of anxiety so you feel safe and calm.

Anxiety may be a result of a specific life event or trauma. We will work together to explore where your source of the anxiety is stemming from and get to the root of the problem using EMDR therapy. This way, in the future, you can be better equipped to face challenges and situations that trigger you.

Most importantly, when beginning your counseling for anxiety, you will learn how to decrease your level of stress, feelings of being overwhelmed, and increase your ability to participate in your daily activities. You will want to engage in life again, enjoy time with other people, and on the flip side being able to be okay with being alone.
